MAXIMS for SUCCESS

–Part 27–

“Sir Winston Churchill”

At times like these, we at Kasper & Associates decided to share inspirational
words of Churchill.  Source: “Churchill on Courage” by Frederick Talbott

  • This is no time for ease and comfort.  It is the time to dare and endure.
  • Fear is a reaction.  Courage is a decision.
  • Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never – in nothing, great or small, large or petty – never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense.
  • We are passing through a bad time now, and it will probably be worse before it is better, but it will be better, if we only endure and persevere, I have no doubt whatever.
  • We desire only to be judged by results.
  • A nation that forgets its past has no future.
  • There is nothing government can give you that it hasn’t taken from you in the first place.  (Churchill saw Socialist taxation as an obstacle to the creation of new business ventures.)
  • There are two maxims which should always be acted upon in the hour of victory: Do not be carried away by success into demanding or taking more than is right or prudent.
  • Victory is not a vague or intangible thing.  It is represented by solid facts.
  • (Finishing with a bit of Churchill humor)  A good speech should be like a woman’s skirt: long enough to cover the subject and short enough to create interest.
